Plays that turn a scan into a sale

You don’t have to dream up a use for Dynamic QR Codes. Here are proven ways stores put them to work — pick the one that fits your shop and copy it. Every code stays editable after it’s printed.

Refills

Refills that reorder themselves

Free · product code + coupon

Every refillable product you sell — printer ink, pet food, supplements, coffee, cleaning concentrate — carries its own reorder button.

  1. Create a QR code for the product with a loyalty coupon attached.
  2. Print it on a sticker label and slap it on the bottle, box or refill pack.
  3. When it runs dry, the customer scans — the exact refill lands in the cart, discount already applied.

You’re on the shelf at the one moment they actually need you — no app, no login, no hunting your site. Change the loyalty coupon later and every label already out there follows.

Always-on signage

One sign, a new offer every month

Free · edit the coupon after printing

Put one code somewhere it can stay for years — the shop window, the counter, the side of the van, the menu board — and let the offer behind it change instead of the sign.

  1. Create a code for your hero product with this month’s coupon, and print it big and properly: vinyl, acrylic, a framed card.
  2. Mount it once. It’s permanent, so it can be a good-looking piece of signage rather than a curling paper flyer.
  3. At the start of each month, open the code in All QR Codes and swap the coupon. The next scan gets the new deal. Between promotions, retire it and scans go to the product page with no expired discount.

One print job, twelve campaigns a year. And because each month runs its own coupon, WooCommerce’s coupon report tells you which offer moved the most.

Local print

Flyers & posters that fill carts

Pro · campaigns + analytics

Turn every flyer, poster and door-drop into a channel you can actually measure.

  1. Create a code in a campaign with your print discount.
  2. Print it across the whole run, grouped under one campaign.
  3. Footfall scans straight into a discounted cart — nothing to type. Next month, swap the offer instead of reprinting.

Your dashboard shows which drop actually paid for itself, so the next print run is money you know is well spent.

Unboxing

Parcels that earn the next order

Free · product code + coupon · Pro: parcel inserts

The box is open and the goodwill is at its peak — that’s the moment to ask for the next order.

  1. Add a “Scan for 15% off your next order” card or sticker to every parcel. With Pro, print the order’s own product codes straight from the order screen.
  2. The QR puts the product back in their cart with the coupon ready to go.
  3. They reorder in one tap, while they still love what they bought.

One-time buyers become repeat buyers — no email they’ll ignore, just a code already in their hand.

Product changes

Packaging that outlives the product

Free · retire · Pro: change the product

Boxes, labels and inserts get printed by the thousand. Products don’t last that long: a flavour is discontinued, a model is replaced, a variation sells out for good. The code on the packaging shouldn’t die with it.

  1. Print a code on the packaging that reorders the product, as usual.
  2. When the product is replaced, with Pro you edit the code and point it at the successor product (or variation). Every box still in a customer’s cupboard now reorders the new one.
  3. If there’s no successor, retire the code. On Free its scans go to the product page (or the shop) with a short “offer has ended” notice; with Pro you choose the fallback page, like a “new range” category.

Old stock and old boxes keep selling the range you have now, never a dead end. And the switch happens in the admin, not at the printer.

Hybrid retail

A shelf that sells after closing

Free · product codes · Pro: blank codes

Your shop floor keeps selling when a bestseller sells out — or after you’ve locked up for the night.

  1. Put a QR card on the shelf, counter or window for each hero product. With Pro, print a sheet of blank codes, stick them up, then assign each one with your phone.
  2. Shoppers scan the out-of-stock size or variant on the spot.
  3. It drops into their cart to buy now or finish later at home.

You capture the sale even when the product — or you — isn’t behind the till.

Bundles

The whole kit in one scan

Pro · bundle codes

Some products only make sense together: a recipe’s ingredients, a starter kit, a refill set, a “complete the look” outfit. A bundle code puts all of it in the cart with one scan.

  1. Create a bundle code with up to 20 products, each with its own quantity (variations included), and one coupon for the lot.
  2. Print it where the idea lives: on the recipe card, the lookbook page, the shelf talker, the demo table.
  3. One scan adds every product and applies the coupon once. If something is out of stock at that moment, it’s skipped and named, and the rest still go in. Change the list later and the printed code follows.

The customer buys the whole idea, not one item, and you see bundle sales per code in Analytics. Bundle codes keep scanning even without an active Pro licence.

Social

See which creator actually sold

Pro · campaigns + analytics

Stop guessing which post drove sales — measure it down to the creator.

  1. Give every post, story or creator its own code in a campaign, with its own UTM tags.
  2. They share it; followers scan into a ready cart, and clicks on the shared link are counted apart from scans.
  3. Each scan, cart and order is traced back to its source.

You see which creator and which post drove real revenue — not just likes — and put budget where it converts.

Events

Markets, fairs & pop-ups

Free · product code + coupon

One code on the stall, and no queue for a single card machine.

  1. Make an event-day code for your hero product, or with Pro, one bundle code that puts the whole starter kit in the cart.
  2. Display it big on the stall with the show discount.
  3. The crowd scans and buys from their own phones.

You keep the sale even if they decide later, on the train home — no missed orders at the busiest moment. When the show ends, retire the code or swap in your regular offer.

Printing

How do you actually print them?

No special kit required.

A QR code is just an image (PNG or SVG) — anything that can put ink (or pixels) on a surface can print it. Use whatever you already have, and scale up later.

Best results

A local print shop

Hand the file to a pro and let them sort stock, finish and volume — stickers, posters, weatherproof labels. The least hassle for a polished result, and the smart move for a big run.

Already own one

Your label printer

Already printing shipping or price labels? A QR code goes to the very same machine — no new kit, just send it the image.

Budget pick

An affordable label printer

No printer yet? Small thermal label printers are cheap now — no ink, peel-and-stick. We print ours on a Niimbot B1.

For makers

A 3D printer

Feeling fancy? Emboss or two-tone a code straight into a tag or the product itself — just keep strong contrast so phones still read it.

Always works

A regular printer

The old classic. Print onto paper or sticker sheets at your desk and cut to size. Zero extra spend, ready in minutes.

Every play starts the same way — create a code for a product and a coupon, then change it whenever the offer does. The Pro plays add campaigns and analytics so you can prove what worked.
