Dynamic QR Codes
More ways to use codes
The free plugin gives each product one code. Pro opens up the rest: codes that open any page, codes for a whole catalogue at once, a kit of products in one scan, a code in every parcel, and stickers you print now and decide on later. They all start from the Create QR code button on QR Codes → All QR Codes, and every one of them can be edited after it’s printed. Pro
With Pro, Create QR code opens a chooser with four cards: For a product, For a link, Bundle and Blank codes. Under them: Many products at once? Select them in Products, then Bulk actions → Create QR codes.
Link codes Pro
A link code opens a page instead of adding a product: a sale, a category, a landing page, your Instagram, a partner’s site. Choose Create QR code → For a link and fill in:
- Destination — a page on your store, or any full
https://address. - Coupon (optional) — only for a page on your own store. The coupon waits in the customer’s session and applies in the cart once they add something it fits.
- Label, Caption and Campaign (all optional).
A live preview shows the code as you type; click Create QR code, then download or print it from the same dialog. A link code doesn’t have to belong to a campaign.
On your store vs. another website. A code that leaves your store can’t carry a coupon, and the plugin can only see the scan, not what happens next — it’s marked external — scans only. Only store managers (and administrators) can point a code at another website; a product editor sees Only store managers can change an external destination.
Bulk create from Products Pro
Need a code for every product in a range? In WooCommerce → Products, tick the products, choose Bulk actions → Create QR codes and click Apply. One dialog sets the whole batch:
- Coupon and Campaign (optional) — the same for every code in the batch.
- Label — a pattern,
{product}to start with. {product}, {sku} and {coupon} are filled in for each code.{product}is a variation’s full name, e.g. “Hoodie – Blue, L”. - Variable products — One per variation (a code that adds that exact size or colour) or One for the parent product (the customer picks the option).
- Duplicates are skipped. A product (or variation) that already has a code with the same coupon gets no second one — retired codes included. The result lists what was skipped and why.
- Big batches are fine. Up to 1,000 products per run; codes are created 200 at a time with a progress bar.
- A coupon whose product rules exclude one of the products still creates that code, with a warning — check the coupon before you print.
- Codes use your site’s QR design. To print a selection together, tick them on All QR Codes and use the bulk action Print selected — one PDF.
Bundle codes Pro
One scan, a whole kit in the cart: a recipe’s ingredients, a starter kit, a refill pack. Choose Create QR code → Bundle (Several products, one scan), add products with Add product, set a quantity for each, pick an optional coupon and click Create bundle code.
- 1 to 20 products per code, 1 to 99 of each. For a variable product, pick the exact variation. Adding the same product twice merges the rows.
- The scan adds every product, applies the coupon once and opens the cart: Products added to your cart and coupon applied!
- Products that can’t be added are skipped — out of stock or no longer sold at the moment of the scan — and named in the cart. The rest still go in. A stock limit lowers the quantity; a “sold individually” product goes in once.
- Change the list later in Edit QR code; printed copies follow. On All QR Codes a bundle shows as e.g. Bundle · 3 products.
Bundle sales show per code on the QR codes, Campaigns and Overview reports in Analytics, not split across products on the Products report. Bundle codes keep scanning even without an active Pro licence.
Parcel inserts Pro
A code in every parcel turns a delivered box into the next order. Open any order (classic or HPOS order screens) and find the QR codes for this order box:
- Products in this order — the active codes of each product in the order, so a scan puts the same product back in the cart.
- Shown on orders — store-wide codes you’ve marked for every order, such as a “5% off your next order” link code. Mark one in its Edit dialog (List this code in “QR codes for this order”) or tick several on All QR Codes and use the bulk action Show on orders (Hide from orders undoes it).
- Each code has Print, PNG and SVG buttons and a tick box; Print selected prints the ticked codes on one sheet for the parcel.
- A product without an active code shows No active QR code for this product. and a Create a parcel code button. It makes a code labelled “{product} — parcel insert”, so reorders from parcels show separately in Analytics.
Nothing is created per order, and retired and blank codes are never listed. The box only shows codes you already have; the same code goes in every parcel of that product.
Blank codes and Scan a code Pro
Not sure yet where each sticker will go? Create QR code → Blank codes makes a batch of codes that don’t do anything yet — a scan opens your shop and is still counted. Print them with their address underneath, stick them up, then walk round with your phone: QR Codes → Scan a code reads each sticker and lets you choose its product or destination, coupon, campaign and a label for the spot.
The same screen finds any printed code later: point the phone at it and its details and Edit button come up — without counting a scan. Full walkthroughs: Blank codes and Scan a code.
Campaigns Pro
Campaigns group codes by channel — a flyer run, a trade show, an email — so you can compare their scans and sales side by side. Each campaign can set its own UTM tags (Source, Medium, Campaign, Term) for your other tools. A code moved to another campaign keeps its past scans and sales with the campaign that earned them. Archive a campaign when it ends; deleting is permanent and removes its link codes, but your analytics keep the history. Everything is on the Campaigns page.
