Playbooks
Plays that turn an order into a packed box
You don’t have to work out how Pack Orders fits your shop. Here’s how stores actually pack with it — pick the workflow that matches yours and copy it.
On the floor
Pack from your phone
Open an order on your phone and tick items into the box as you go — no printed pick sheet, no clutter.
- Open the order on the Packing screen — big tap targets, product photo, SKU and quantity.
- Tick each item as it goes in the box, or hit “Mark all packed” when it’s done.
- The packed state saves instantly and follows you from the shop floor to the bench.
You pack one-handed, start to finish — and pick up exactly where you left off on any device.
Stockouts
Never ship short
Out of something mid-pack? Flag it instead of guessing — the order can’t slip out incomplete.
- Tap the item you’re missing and mark it Awaiting.
- The whole order shows blocked, so it never reads as ready to ship.
- Every awaiting item across all your orders lands on one Awaiting list.
Nothing ever ships half-packed — and you get a single view of everything you’re short.
Teamwork
Two hands, one order
When more than one person packs, everyone needs the same truth — without anyone touching order status.
- Packed state lives on the order itself, shared live across every device and user.
- A packing column on the Orders screen shows each order’s progress at a glance.
- The order-edit screen carries a Packing panel with the same checklist.
Anyone can pick up a half-packed order and finish it — and WooCommerce order status is never changed.
Restock
Restock without spreadsheets
Everything you flagged Awaiting is already a shopping list — grouped by the supplier who fills it.
- Assign each product to a supplier once — one by one, or in bulk.
- The Re-order list groups every awaiting item by supplier, quantities summed.
- Send it — CSV, email or print — then mark it ordered to track the batch.
Restocking becomes a few taps, not a spreadsheet — and each batch runs draft → ordered → received.
Backorders
Catch backorders automatically
Don’t rely on spotting a backorder by eye — let new orders flag themselves.
- Turn on auto-flag in Settings.
- As orders come in, any backordered item is marked Awaiting for you.
- Run the one-time scan to catch backorders already sitting in older orders.
Backordered items queue themselves to re-order the moment they land — nothing slips through.
Pick
Pick once, not per order
On a busy day, hopping between orders to find the same product wastes the most time.
- Open the Pick list — every still-to-pack item summed across all your orders.
- Gather each product once, in one trip, with a per-order breakdown underneath.
- Orders blocked by an awaiting item drop off, so you only pick what can ship.
You pick each product once, not once per order — then pack from a full bench.
Every play runs on the same free checklist — how it works takes two minutes. The Flow plays add suppliers, re-ordering and a pick list.
